King Parikshit was cursed by Sage Shringi , as king Parikshit had put a dead snake around Sage Shringi’s fathers neck . Sage Shringi got extremely upset and cursed King Parikshit that he will die in 7 days, that too with a snake bite only .
King Parikshit was a pious soul and realized that he had committed a sin while being under the influence of Kali (Kali yug ) .
