Maa Saraswati is the consort of Lord Brahma, and Lord Brahma is known as the creator of the universe.

Maa Saraswati is primarily referred to as the Goddess of knowledge.

Maa Saraswati is associated with speech, memory power, focus, arts, music and wisdom.

Saraswati Puja is performed to please Maa Saraswati and thereby seeking her blessings.

It is believed that Goddess Saraswati appeared from the mouth of Brahmaji on the fifth day of Shukla Paksha of Magh month and hence the festival of Vasant Panchami is celebrated on this date.

Saraswati Puja on Vasant panchami is of special importance. Apart from this, Maa Saraswati is also worshiped on Chaturdashi, Ashtami, and Navami of every month.

It is said that when Maa Saraswati played her veena, all the creatures of the world could speak only then. Since then, she was named ‘Saraswati’.

या कुन्देन्दुतुषारहारधवला या शुभ्रवस्त्रावृता। या वीणावरदण्डमण्डितकरा या श्वेतपद्मासना॥

या ब्रह्माच्युत शंकरप्रभृतिभिर्देवैः सदा वन्दिता। सा माम् पातु सरस्वती भगवती निःशेषजाड्यापहा॥

Mantra Meaning :

The goddess of learning, Bhagwati Saraswati, who is as white as a necklace of flowers, moon, snow and pearls, and who wears white clothes, in whose hands the veena-danda is graceful, who has taken a seat on white lotuses, and Brahma May Goddess Saraswati, who is always worshiped by deities like Vishnu and Shankar etc, protect us, removes all inertia and ignorance .

Saraswati Puja helps students and enthusiasts for their exams and thereby getting good scores and good admissions.

Doing Saraswati Puja removes the problems of the people troubled by the lack of money and there is wealth and food in the house.

Saraswati puja is regularly done in schools and colleges throughout India.
